Operations are billed in points against your workspace balance. This page explains when a call is billed. It deliberately states no prices.
Prices can change, and this site is static. The current cost of every operation is always in two places:
  • in the app under Settings → Billing;
  • in the live API description, GET https://app.loice.ai/api/v1/openapi.json, in each operation’s Billing section.

When a call is billed

  • A completed lookup is billed, found or not. The work was done, and “nobody matched” is a real answer. Each operation’s reference page states its exact condition under Billing.
  • An answer from our records costs the same as a fresh one. A cached result is billed in full.
  • A failure on our side is never billed. A timeout, a provider that could not answer, or our own defect (500, or an outcome such as unavailable) costs nothing.
  • A refused request is never billed. Validation errors (400), rate-limited calls (429) and refusals before any work, such as insufficient-credits, cost nothing.
  • A replay is never billed. Repeating a request with the same Idempotency-Key returns the original outcome for free.
  • Reads are free. Checking the balance, polling or cancelling a lead-search run and reading the API description consume no points.
Every lookup response states what that call consumed, in charged and pointsCharged.

Lead-search runs

A lead-search run is billed per delivered lead, once, when the run finishes:
  1. When the run starts, the worst case (unitCost × count) is reserved from your balance. You see it as reserved in the balance.
  2. When the run finishes, the leads actually delivered are charged and the rest of the reservation is released.
  3. An empty run is free. A continuation run never re-bills leads that were already delivered.
  4. A cancelled run is charged only for the leads delivered before it stopped.
See Lead-search runs.

Check your headroom

GET /api/v1/points returns available (what you can spend now), reserved (held by runs in progress) and granted (the lifetime total). Call it before you submit a batch, rather than finding out halfway that the workspace ran out.
